About Tiakara
Environmentalist
A third year student at Plymouth University, Tiakara studies the Sustainability and Environment Management Bachelor of Science degree.
A returner to Plymouth, Tiakara was born at Derriford in 2002, living her early years exploring and enjoying the environments of Devon and Cornwall.
When not studying, you’ll find Tiakara sat in the library reading up or serving drinks and food at multiple establishments in the city.
An environmentalist at heart, Tiakara leans toward the ideology and social movement of environmentalism which aims to protect the natural environment from adverse impacts of human activity.
Preferring research and education over disruption and activism, Tiakara enjoys learning about policy and legislation in the hope that after her studies, she may be a respected leader in applying positive change to ethical approaches in sustainable development

STUDY • ACTION • EDUCATION
Studying for my degree in sustainability aims to prepare me to become an informed and proactive agent of positive change, capable of addressing the complex and pressing sustainability challenges that our world faces. I will be prepared to work in a wide range of fields, from environmental policy and renewable energy to sustainable business and community development, releasing my commitment for creating a more sustainable and equitable future for our current and future generations.
